Mosquito Boys OBA, 2019 Season (Port Lambton Pirates)

Congratulations to the Port Lambton OBA Mosquito Pirates on their successful playoff series against Wyoming. With a convincing 11-1 victory the Pirates advance to their OBA provincial tournament next weekend held in Essex. Thanks to all who came out to support our team during the intense playoff round. In preparation for OBA’s and our qualification for the OBA tournament we will be having a practice on Saturday July 22 at 8:00am to 10:00am at MacDonald Park. Further information including a schedule for our playoff against Wyoming to qualify for the OBA “C” tournament will follow.

Based on a severe thunderstorm watch and the radar showing a storm passing through Port Lambton sometime between 6:00pm and 8:00pm we have decided to cancel the game against London Badgers. It will be rescheduled at a later date. Optional practice at 6:15pm is available if the weather permits for those who decide to show up. I will also have our team bags to hand out tonight. Our next game is scheduled on Tuesday July 4th VS North London at home. If I don’t see you tonight enjoy your weekend.

Please read below the message from the tournament host regarding schedule change. The municipal recreation staff are advising we pull the plug tonight and go tomorrow. Lots of water laying on the diamonds but the forecast is decent for the remainder of the weekend and leaving it overnight will give us the best chance for great diamonds tomorrow.   We will, therefore, push tonight's games to 6:00 on Saturday, keeping the skills competition at 2:00. This way, players and families will have a rest and a chance to eat rather than playing three games back to back to back.
